Grodno MS Clinical Research Centre

has been functioning since 1992 on the basis of Grodno Clinical Hospital #1. Today it functions on the basis of Grodno Regional Clinical Hospital (Grodno State Medical University, Neurology Department).

This centre is founded with the purpose of research into MS epidemiology in Belarus, working out new diagnosis methods, determining an activity of pathological processes and elaboration of optimum therapy decisions.
It is a co-ordination centre, where health care professionals, people with MS and their families can get information about MS and treatment of this disease.

Objectives:

  • identification of MS(making accurate diagnosis)
  • diagnosis of exacerbations
  • treatment decisions (ambulant therapy or hospitalization)
  • selecting individual variants of pathogenetic and symptomatic therapy
  • recommendations on non-medicamental correction of disability syndromes
  • psychological support
  • vocational guidance
